The New York Review of Books was born in 1963 as a magazine, just as the name says, dedicated to literary reviews. In little time the publication became one of the main references for authors around the world, for the articles, stories and essays but also for being politically engaged. In 2013 the publication celebrated 50 years and the director Martin Scorsese, fan of the magazine since the beginning, joined David Tedeschi (editor of films such as Shine a Light) to pay homage and commemorate the date. Scorsese nasceu em 1942 em Nova York. Estudou cinema na Universidade de Nova York. Um dos principais nomes do cinema norte-americano, dirigiu obras como Taxi Driver (1976), Palma de Ouro em Cannes, Touro indomável (1980), Os bons companheiros (1990) e Os infiltrados (2006), Oscar de filme e direção. Tedeschi é montador e trabalhou com Scorsese em Shine a Light (2008) e Public Speaking (2010), entre outros. Esta é sua estreia na direção.
