Over 40 years after the release of The Exorcist, director William Friedkin wonders how close to reality his most iconic film was. After meeting with Father Gabriele Amorth, a 91-year-old man known as the "Dean of Exorcists," Friedkin receives permission to attend and film Father Amorth’s most recent exorcism. The victim of possession is an Italian woman who has been experiencing troubling fits and behavioral changes that psychiatry could not fix. Official selection ate the Venice Film Festival 2017.
