In 2007 a young British woman Meredith Kercher was brutally killed in Perugia, in Italy. Immediately under suspicion are Amanda Knox, a North American who Meredith shared an apartment with, and her boyfriend, a young bar owner from the Ivory Coast. The trial resulted in arrests, sentences and convictions, becoming an international tabloid phenomenon. In his new film, Michael Winterbottom (9 Songs and 24 Hour Party People) creates an alter ego to investigate this controversial real case. With Daniel Bruhl and Kate Beckinsale. Michael Winterbottom
Nasceu em 1961 em Blackburn, na Inglaterra. Começou sua carreira em 1989 dirigindo telefilmes e séries para TV. Depois do longa Jude (1996), passou a dirigir cerca de um filme por ano. Entre seus trabalhos, destacam-se Bem-vindo a Saravejo (1997), A festa nunca termina (2002) e Nove canções (2004). Ganhou o Urso de Ouro no Festival de Berlim com Neste mundo (2003) e o Urso de Prata com Estrada para Guantánamo (2006).
