Halley and her six-year-old daughter Moonee live in a cheap motel on the edge of a highway in the city of Orlando. While her mother moves between underpaid work and a chaotic life, Moonee and her friends from the motel next door spend their days exploring abandoned buildings, having ice cream and pranking the motel staff - with special focus on the ever-patient Bobby. When life throws them another curve ball, Moonee's unconditional love for her mother will define her uncertain future. From the same director of Tangerina, with Willem Dafoe. Nasceu em Nova York, em 1971, e graduou-se em cinema pela NYU. Em 2000, dirigiu seu primeiro longa, Four Letter Words, e ficou conhecido na cena independente americana com Take Out (2004). Dirigiu ainda Prince of Broadway (2008), menção especial no Festival de Locarno, Starlet (2012), prêmio do júri júnior de Locarno, e Tangerina (2015), exibido em Sundance e Toronto e vencedor do prêmio Felix no Festival do Rio.
