Sol, a seven-year-old girl, spends the day at her grandfather's house helping her aunts with preparations for a surprise party for her sick father. As the day progresses and her father's appearance at the party is delayed, the bonds that hold the family together will be put to the test. Sol will understand that after that night, her world will change drastically. Winner of the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival.
Lila Avilés
Independent film director, screenwriter, and producer from Mexico. She founded her company, Limerencia Films, in 2018. Her first feature film La Camarista (2018), was chosen to represent Mexico in the 2020 Oscar. It was invited to more than sixty festivals around the world winning a large number of awards. Lila has been a jury member at the San Sebastián International Film Festival (2021), and Lima International Film Festival (2020), among others.
