The film weaves eight visual fables which bring to the surface the significance of each character's quest for survival. They investigate the conflicts between life and history, contrasting the beauty of the bay and the awe of its characters around Guanabara Bay.

Nascido em 1950, no Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Salles tem uma extensa e premiada carreira como diretor, diretor de fotografia e roteirista. Entre as obras que dirigiu está Nome próprio (2008). No Festival do Rio, venceu a categoria de melhor filme por Seja o que Deus quiser! (2002) e acumula o Redentor de melhor roteiro por O fim e os meios (2014).
