Here, the peoples, who are often treated like the somewhat unruly occupants of the United States' backyard, have their civilisational proposals and their struggles related by North-American linguist and political analyst, Noam Chomsky and Brazilian diplomat Celso Amorim. In the film, they analyse nearly a century of history and cast a light on the key events of this journey, looking for openings which indicate a more just and plural Latin America.
