On a trip to Africa the director Hubert Sauper records the political moment of the largest country of the continent, Sudan. He reveals how territory is being divided by the shock of neocolonialism. Under the interest of foreign powers, the country is experiencing new episodes of bloody conflicts in the name of land and resources. We are exposed to transit workers in the oil industry, the peacekeepers of the UN, the Sudanese war lords, American missionaries and today’s politicians. Hubert Sauper
Nasceu em Kitzbühel, uma aldeia de Tirol nos alpes austríacos. Estudou cinema na University of Performing Arts, em Viena, e na Universidade de Paris, onde também leciona. Em 2004, dirigiu O pesadelo de Darwin, documentário vencedor de 12 prêmios internacionais, incluindo o César de melhor filme de estreia 2006 e Oscar de melhor documentário. Amigos, amigos, negócios à parte é seu segundo documentário em longa-metragem.
