After the death of his mother, the teenager Dany leaves Crete to join his older brother, Odysseas, who lives in Athens. Born to an Albanian mother and a Greek father, the brothers had never met. Strangers in their own country the pair decide to go to Salonica to look for their father and force him to officially recognize them. On a trip through a country that refuses to accept them, Dany dreams of his brother, a talented singer, participating in a local talent show. Nasceu em Atenas e estudou na London International Film School e na Sorbonne, em Paris. Entre 1985 e 1995, dirigiu diversos curtas-metragens, entre eles The Fall and Rise of Lydia Von Burer (1991). Em 1995, fundou a 100% Synthetic Films, produtora pela qual lançou seu primeiro longa, The Attack of the Giant Mousaka (2000). Seu segundo filme, Real Life, foi o vencedor em seu país do prêmio National Critics Award (2004).
