A Rio “Homecoming” for Catherine Corsini
Director Catherine Corsini presented her latest feature, “Le Retour” (The Homecoming), which premiered this year in Cannes, at Kinoplex São Luiz on Sunday and on Saturday at the Reserva Cultural Niteroi. The film can still be seen on Wednesday at the Kinoplex São Luiz at 13.30 and on Saturday at Estação NET Gavea at 20.45
Catherine first came to the public attention with “The New Ève” (1999), which was presented at the Berlin Film Festival. “Leaving” (2009) was a success with audiences and screened at the Toronto Film Festival. Catherine returned to Cannes in 2012 with “Three Worlds” which screened in Un Certain Regard. “Summertime” (2015) screened in Locarno and received two nominations for Césars. She returned to competition in Cannes with “The Divide” (2021), which won the Queer Palme, and now in 2023 with “Homecoming”.
