Cine Encontro, or Cinema Encounter, gives the festival going public the chance to meet, listen and question the cast and crew of the films screening in competition in Première Brasil, New Trends and Portraits.

In 2017 the panels and debates were spread across four festival locations. The cast and crew of the films in the main competitive section of Première Brasil met festival goers at the traditional CCLSR - Cine Odeon NET Claro, while the cast and crew from films in New Trends were presented at Estacão Net Rio 3 and Portraits at Espaco BNDES and Cinemateca do MAM.
