“Puan” Brings Comedy and Drama to the Screen
Director Benjamín Naishtat, actor Leonardo Sbaraglia and producer Tatiana Leite introduced the international Argentine, Brazilian, France, Italian and German co-production “Puan” Tuesday at the Estaçāo NET Botafogo 1. The drama screens on final time at the festival on Sunday at Kinoplex Sao Luiz 1 at 16.15.
In “Puan” Marcelo has devoted his life to teaching at the Faculty of Philosophy. When Professor Caselli, his mentor, dies unexpectedly, Marcelo expects to inherit the Department. However his plans turn upside down with the arrival of Rafael Sujarchuk, a charismatic and seductive colleague, who returns from his celebrity status in European universities to claim the Philosophy Department for himself. Marcelo's clumsy efforts to prove that he is the right candidate will trigger an hilarious philosophical duel, while his life — and the country — enter a spiral of chaos.
