For the seventh consecutive year the festival headquarters for the duration of the event is based in the historic port area of downtown Rio, and for the fourth consecutive year the actual location is the Armazém da Utopia (Armazém 6 – Av. Rodrigues Alves, s/n – Centro, Rio de Janeiro – RJ), an historic water front warehouse in the port region which overlooks the bay and the Rio-Niteroi Bridge.

The Armazém da Utopia, which covers an area of 4,500 square metres, hosts screenings, discussions (including Cinema Encounter), workshops, seminars, social events, press conferences, the press and other festival offices, and many of the activities related to RioMarket.

The entire port area, where the festival HQ is located, is currently being redeveloped in time for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in a project known as “Porto Maravilha” (Marvellous Port - www.portomaravilha.com.br).

Rio de Janeiro grew out of the downtown and port areas and guests, who have the time, can visit a number of the city and South America’s most historic buildings, churches, museums, cultural centres and galleries.
