Orson Welles’ career was an enigma: he was a Hollywood star, an auteur, a failure and a crucial name in independent cinema. At 20, he began his career in theatre and radio, having been a music prodigy at 10 years old, edited Shakespeare at 14 and a painter at 16. After the success of Citizen Kane, his career followed a constant path, leaving films halfway through and working as an actor to try and be able to finance his projects.
